Economical importance of fungi - Medlepius

There are tremendous amount of benefit that we are getting from fungi these days so i would try to cover most of them and also you can observe them in your surrounding and can share your observation in the comments sections 

Use of Fungi as Medicine
Most of the medicines that we consume in our daily comes from fungi origin and some of these medicines are

                    is used along with a proper diet to help lower "bad" cholesterol and fats (such triglycerides) and raise "good" cholesterol in the blood.It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver.

antibiotic penicillin
                             this is the first antibiotic to be formed and it is also obtained from a fungus that is names as penicillin as it is used to treat many of the bacterial diseases so it is a broad spectrum antibiotic

Use of fungus in Baking

  • fungus such as yeast which is a unicellular fungi is also used in many of the baking industries

  • Penicillium roqueforti is used to make roqueforti cheese and related cheese. They also have a wide scope to be used as colors such as Monoascus purpureus is used to give color to red wine
  • such as the fungus candida humicola is used to form chocolate

They can be Used as Food
Most of the fungi around us can be used food such as morels truffles mushrooms
