Different methods of sexual and asexual methods of reproduction in fungi - Medlepius
FUNGI
Fungi are Heterotrophs but they are special as compared to
the animals because animals are ingestive hetero-tropes where as fungi
are absorptive hetero-tropes they have chitin in their cell wall and such
that so lets come to out topic that is sexual and asexual reproduction
in fungi
ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION IN FUNGI
So fungi reproduces sexually as well as asexually so these are some of the common methods by which fungi reproduces are as following- spores
- conidia
- fragmentation
- budding
Spores
One
of the method through which fungi reproduces asexually are by the spore
formation such that spores are formed with the sporangium that is cut of
from a complete hyphae such that spores are produces in a very large
amount they do not need water for their dispersal they can be dispersed
easily by other method such as by wind by animals by human activities by insects and birds coming for nectar by water splashing and by other
many means these are some of the activities through which spores are spread they are very resistant to many of the environmental conditions
so they an survive for weeks without decaying and without any kind of desiccation
Conidia
They
are special structure through which fungi also reproduces asexually they
are formed inside conidiophore not inside the sporangium conidiophore are
formed by cutting of from the modified hyphae so like the spores they
are also produced in very large number and can be dispersed by many of
the methods such as by wing by water by rain by water splashing by human activities by insect activities by birds and many more they are
also very resistant and can survive unto many weeks till decaying
Fragmentation
So
fungi can also reproduces through the fragmentation such that in this
the fungi can grow any of its cut part it is defined as the regeneration
on cut of part such as in planaria and many other organisms and fungi
can also reproduce by the fragmentation
Budding
Fungi
can also reproduces through budding in which apart of a small bud is
formed on any side of the body and that may separated any time from the body and can fully grow into an adult such that more than one bud can
be formed at a time
SEXUAL REPRODUCTION IN FUNGI
On the basis of sexual reproduction there are several group into which the fungi are divided that are as following- zygomycota
- ascomycota
- basidomycota
- deuteromycota
Zygomycota
In this group pf fungi fusion of nucleus takes place after the fusion of cytoplasm and their is no lengthy dikaryotic phase
Ascomycota and Basidomycota
In
these two groups the fusion of nucleus does not take place after the
combination of the cytoplasm and their is length dikartotic phase such
that in them two nuclei of different genetic material coexist with each
other
Deuteromycota
In
this group of fungi there is no sexual reproduction there may be any
kind of sexual reproduction but is not found yet but they reproduces by a
way known as the parasexuallity and asexually they reproduce by conidia
